FRIEND JESUS

Psalm 27:14

Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

The Following is Your Prayer for Salvation:

------

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

If you just prayed this prayer, yes, it's that simple, you are now saved. May God Bless You as You Grow in Christ Jesus Our Saviour...Amen!

Who are the Children of God?

As children, we were raised by our parents. Some of us were raised by two parents, some by a mother and some by a father. There are some of us that are sent to foster homes, some that are in an orphanage and some that are left homeless through war or famine. My point is, that as children, we are all taught by someone different. Someone who was raised the same way or differently than we were, but there is one parent that is always constant...God!

-(Hebrews 12:9-11) Besides, we have all had human parents who trained us. We respected them for it. How much more should we be trained by the Father of our spirits and live! 10 Our parents trained us for a little while. They did what they thought was best. But God trains us for our good. He wants us to share in his holiness.11 No training seems pleasant at the time. In fact, it seems painful. But later on it produces a harvest of godliness and peace. It does that for those who have been trained by it.

The problem is, that unless you are born into God's family through salvation in Jesus Christ, you are homeless. We are all God's creation, but we are not all God's children. When we accept His son, Jesus Christ, we ourselves are accepted into God's family as an adopted son/daughter.

-(Romans 4:16) The promise is based on God's grace. The promise comes by faith. All of Abraham's children will certainly receive the promise. And it is not only for those who are ruled by the law. Those who have the same faith that Abraham had are also included. He is the father of us all.

-(Romans 8:14) Those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 You didn't receive a spirit that makes you a slave to fear once again. Instead you received the Holy Spirit, who makes you God's child. By the Spirit's power we call God " Abba." Abba means Father. 16 The Spirit himself joins with our spirits. Together they give witness that we are God's children.

In Aram. 'abba' is originally, like the feminine equivalent 'imma', a word derived from baby-language. When a child is weaned, "it learns to say 'abba' (daddy) and 'imma' (mummy)". Even in the pre-Christian era the word underwent a considerable extension of meaning. It came to replace not only the older form of address common to biblical Heb. and Aram., 'abba'{i<, my father, but also the Aram. descriptive terms for "the father" and "my father", i.e. the noun in the emphatic and the form with the 1st person sing. suffix. The effect of this widening of meaning was that the word 'abba' as a form of address to one's father was no longer restricted to children, but also used by adult sons and daughters. The childish character of the word ("daddy") thus receded, and 'abba' acquired the warm, familiar ring which we may feel in such an expression as "dear father".

-(Galations 4:4-5) But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. 6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

-(Romans 8:17) As his children, we will receive all that he has for us. We will share what Christ receives. But we must share in his sufferings if we want to share in his glory. Paul's starting point is the promise that those who belong to Israel stand under God's blessing, but who belongs to Israel? Not the natural descendants of Abraham, but those who believe, for whom the promise is valid. "It is men of faith who are sons of Abraham"

There is a contrast between flesh and spirit. It is not a question, therefore, of a natural relationship as children to God, but of a legal acceptance by adoption of believers as children of God and heirs of the promise. The gift which establishes this is the Spirit, who cries Abba, Father. You will notice however, that it states that for "those who believe", the promise is valid. What this is saying, is that you can't be adopted by God and be a legal heir unless you truly believe in His son, Jesus and accept him. Once you have accepted Jesus, you have accepted God himself.

-(John 14:8-13) Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, `Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? The words I say to you are not just My own. Rather, it is the Father, living in Me, who is doing His work. 11 Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."

Think about this for a moment. Suppose you are talking to a guy and he says that he has a brain. You don't see his brain, but in this case, just because you don't see it physically doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. In this manner, we have accepted with total understanding that the brain exists within the realm of the man we are talking to. On the same level, suppose you are telling this same man that God exists and he asks you how do you know God exists! There are 2 things at this point that I say you must unequivocally know within yourself. Number one is the following verse from Romans.

-(Romans 1:20) Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I'm talking about His eternal power and about the fact that He is God. Those things can be seen in what He has made. So people have no excuse for what they do.

Number 2 is the following verse:

-(LK 18:16-17) But Jesus asked the children to come to him. "Let the little children come to me," he said. "Don't keep them away. God's kingdom belongs to people like them. 17 What I'm about to tell you is true. Anyone who will not receive God's kingdom like a little child will never enter it."

Above all else, we must receive the kingdom of God with a child-like quality. We all have this quality, but some have hardened over the years, to the point that there is no child left in them. I believe this is why it is so hard for a person to accept Jesus, the older he/she gets.

When we are young, unless we have been instantly hardened by life circumstances, we look at life through rose-tinted glasses. Everything is wonderful. The air itself can seem exciting sometimes, just by the wind blowing on your face. When is the last time, you lay down in the grass and just let the wind blow around you and watch the clouds roll by. At an early age, you could have lay there, even if there was a major highway within 50 feet of you. No one would pay any attention to you because of your age and you didn't care about the traffic going by. It might as well have been 50 miles away when your imagination took over. By the same token, when we are young, we can believe in things we don't see. We can see things that aren't there. We don't yet understand in the worldly way that something can't be seen if we believe in it or something can't happen just because someone says it can't happen. Our imagination takes us into another realm of existence.

We have to totally trust God, our abba, our Father, in the same way that we see things and trust as a child. It's this child-like quality that God expects us to have. He loves us, but when we accept His son Jesus, we are born again, and become His children. It is then that we once again have the child-like quality that we had once before. Things are new and exciting and we want to discover all the more about our Father, who has adopted us.

In ancient times, adoption was not like it is now. In Jesus day, if someone was adopted they were the true son/heir to the adopting father's family. If the father had sons after he adopted a son, the adopted son was still legal heir to all of his possessions and could never again have any legal rights to his biological father's possessions. It is the same with us. Once we are an adopted child of God, we can no longer have any legal holding on any worldly possessions, because we are now adopted in the Spirit and not in the flesh. What we are heir to now is all of the treasures of our Father God.

-(1 Corinthians 6:13) I speak to you as if you were my children. It is only fair that you open your hearts wide to us also. (This was Paul speaking to us)

-(Luke 10:21) At that time Jesus was full of joy through the Holy Spirit. He said, "I praise You, Father. You are Lord of heaven and earth. You have hidden these things from the wise and educated. But You have shown them to little children. Yes, Father. This is what You wanted."

Can we have children anymore?

As a child, I was rejected by my peers due to my weight. I was called every name in the book, was ridiculed, cursed at and ostracized. It was tough growing up in those circumstances. Even though I hated some of the kids then, I knew in my heart even back then, that they were all basically good kids. Most of them were just following the leader of the pack. I was always the last one picked for any sporting event. The first one hit in dodge ball. The one that was never called over in "Red Rover Red Rover". There were bullies back then just as there are bullies today. I never went to my parents about my problems with bullies, or the name calling, as it was an accepted fact that it was part of growing up. Whatever happened to me back then though...I would do it all over again. You know why? Because it's part of life! You will always have bullies, people being ostracized, name calling, people being ridiculed, and people being cursed at. It made me the person I am today, and I think that person turned out to be pretty good. My parents helped, I mean they were great parents and always tried to help me, but I have to say that I did most of my growing and understanding on my own....at least I thought it was on my own.

I had one parent always watching over me, but I didn't really know it until recently. God is that parent. He led me through good times and bad times, ups and downs, but He always watched out for me and kept me from getting in too much trouble. I thank Him daily for my life and what He has done for me.

There is a major problem today though. The government, school districts, attorneys and parents blame all of the school shootings on all of the things I have mentioned above, but you know what, it's none of that! It's our government, school districts, attorneys and parents trying to lay blame instead of looking at themselves. We simply will not let children be children anymore. We put more pressure on children today than we ever put on them in years past. I would rather go through everything I went through back then than go into today's school environment. The government started putting major emphasis on testing students at all levels to see if they are worthy of the next grade. The federal government's disabilities act lets severely disruptive kids attend regular classes instead of putting them in special classes where they belong, thereby putting more stress on the teacher to teach and the child to learn. The school district has put so much stress on supreme academic achievement which only a small minority could ever achieve, but it puts so much stress on the average student that it has increased suicide and shooting rates. Why...because the Japanese send their kids to school year round so why shouldn't we....How stupid can we be! The parents add to this stress by putting more pressure on the child at home, also wanting their child to excel at academics and sports, which once again, only a small minority can do. If a child starts to act like a child, parents are told to take him/her to a clinic where they are given Ritalin. This is the parent's quick fix to discipline in today's fast paced world, where a parent has no time to actually raise a child. They depend on the government, school districts and the media to do that now. Attorneys take everyone to court, so the government, school district and parents put more stress on the children by taking away freedoms in school with thousands of lawsuits and putting in metal detectors. The zero tolerance of most school districts has taken away all common sense of the teachers. They turn students in over the slightest provocation, in fear of their own jobs if they don't. The school district decides that with zero tolerance, they won't get a lawsuit or the government stepping up to the plate, to use their district as the batting box. They would like to use common sense, but have been forced by our own society not too.

It has nothing to do anymore with kids shooting kids, it has to do with government and attorneys. A child is subjected to every doctrine under the sun. What is appropriate for this week or next week. They have no solid foundation to base their life on! Most kids...if you asked them, would probably say that they are extremely confused! One of the major confusing issues to children is homosexuality. There are many other confusing issues, but homosexuality is not normal, nor will it ever be, but society says it's fine. If it feels good do it! How confusing is this to children? Confusing enough to make them ask a lot of questions. Unfortunately the answers too often come from the worldly view and not from the spiritual view. Hopefully, they will ask a Christian and get the correct answers! You know what...God said that homosexuality is an abomination and in the following verses, He says it's a perversion and that you will receive your due penalty for this practice. No confusion there!

-(Romans 1:24) Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

God is taken out of all secular areas of society and in today's world, they need God more than any other time in the history of this world. If in these times, a child is not given a solid foundation to stand on, then their foundation is built on sand and the first earthquake in their lives will cause them to collapse. The Ten Commandments are the foundation built on solid rock and if everyone followed the lead of the Ten Commandments then the rock would be established in a child's life. If an earthquake takes place in their lives then the rock is only shaken slightly, but holds together to fight another day. Say what you will, but all of the children, and adults for that matter, who have the teachings of our God , will stand for justice. They will not take justice in their own hands, being taught that it is okay to steal or take another person's life because society doesn't seem to care about them anymore. A child needs a hug from his parents from time to time, and needs the reassurance that only love can bring to a child. Without love, we are all just protoplasm placed on this earth to wander from place to place never knowing our place in society.

-(Ephesians 6:1-3) Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise-- 3 "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." -(Phillipians 2:14) Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16 as you hold out the word of life--in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.

There is only one reason we are here on this earth. Only one and one alone. It doesn't matter one iota how wonderful you are or how much money you raise for charity, or the kind deeds you do for others. The only reason you are here on this earth is to worship your Father in heaven, but God is not your father unless you acknowledge and believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. If you have not accepted Jesus, you have not been born into the kingdom of heaven. If you are not born, how can the Father know you. You will have just been a gleam in His eye that He never met.

-(Luke 13:25-28) Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, `Sir, open the door for us.' "But he will answer, `I don't know you or where you come from.' 26"Then you will say, `We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' 27 "But he will reply, `I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!' 28 "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

-(Romans 3:22-24) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

I italicized and bolded the term "all have sinned" in the last Biblical quote to emphasize that it is all of us that need redemption through Jesus Christ, not just some of us, but the only way that you will recognize this verse is if you approach it with the eyes of a child. Ask forgiveness from your Father through His Son Jesus Christ and accept Him into your heart. A child walks up to his father or mother and says, "I'm sorry." Very rare that the child would not be forgiven by the parent.

-(Matthew 7:11-12) If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

So the bottom line is this, "Can we let children be children anymore?" Not if we continue to over protect them with all of the parental guidance of the government, social organizations, daycare, babysitters, attorneys, school boards, parental sports addiction, ritalin.- You want to kill your child spiritually and mentally...just keep doing what you're doing and letting everyone else raise your children. You will have grown-up adult sons or daughters, but they will never be or will ever have known how to be children. They will be so stressed out and wound up that sooner or later, they will have the earthquake on the foundation of solid sand and they will slowly or quickly sink, unable to recover! Let children be children, but also, make sure that you discipline your child. Yes, that means an occasional spanking with an explanation of why you are spanking them. It may mean privileges have to be taken away, but first and foremost, raise your children in the way of the Lord.

-(Proverbs 23:13) Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. 14 Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death.

-(Proverbs 22:6) Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

I was spanked and corrected growing up as were many of you reading this. Does it hurt? "Yes" Are you dead? "No" Are you better off? "Yes" Do you still love your parents? "Yes" So they must have done something right. Don't be so scared of what everyone in our society thinks, just raise your children the way they are supposed to be raised. You are raising them to love God, not society. Bottom line is, that we are all the children of God. The hardest thing for us to learn is, how to be a child of God! Have I learned it yet? I'm learning just as you are. It's always an "on the job" training session for all of us! And as a parent, God will continue to spank us when we deserve it! Does it hurt? "Yes" Are you dead? "No" Are you better off? "Yes" Do you still love your Father in heaven? "Yes"
